One of the founding directors of BBT group, Tim Brumby is passionate about helping people maintain their quality of life in retirement and this is reflected by the desire he had to set up the company in 1998.
Prior to starting the business, Tim had a successful career as National Sales Manager with a large firm of Independent Financial Advisers specialising in dealing with Public Sector retirees. He moved on to help set up the new retirement counselling financial services division of a High Street Bank, of which he was both joint Managing Director and a Board director.
Tim has the ability to take a complex subject and make it very simple for people to understand which inspires them to put their trust in our company and the services we offer. His integrity and professionalism have meant that he has been very successful in building the business in conjunction with fellow director Gordon Townend.
He shares Gordon's enthusiasm for growing the business and creating opportunities for our Consultants who, in turn can share their knowledge and enthusiasm with our clients.
Tim has two sons, Michael and Andrew, a very active family life and in his spare time he enjoys buying and restoring classic British cars.
Having decided not to follow in the family tradition of agriculture Gordon moved into financial services, initially working for the UK's largest Life and Pensions Company.
He was one of their most consistent, top performing advisers in the UK. Ready for a new challenge he went on to hold a variety of senior positions within training, management and business development.
Gordon is a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He met Tim Brumby in 2001 and following discussions which highlighted their similar approach and views they agreed to combine their skills and knowledge and together have created the business we have today.
His pragmatic approach and ability to clearly identify and prioritise key issues ensures that we achieve our objectives and continue to build on delivering our successful service to our clients.
He lives with his wife Chrissie, children Arthur, Felicity and a large variety of animals. Any spare time is shared between supporting the children's riding activities, various interests and hobbies, family holidays and time with friends. He shares his family's love of the countryside and (most!) of the people in it. He has a passion for motorbikes, cars and most things on wheels.
Rob joined BBT in 2002. He has an extensive knowledge of IT, accounts and is a qualified accounting technician. During his career with BBT he has spent time in every department and has a vast store of knowledge. This is invaluable when overseeing the systems and processes used by our internal teams.
Rob shares his knowledge of, and interest in technology with some of the younger members of staff and we feel reassured that our future is secure in this area!
Rob lives with Sarah and their son, Harrison. In his free time he enjoys participating in, and watching most sports, music and plays the guitar. He also enjoys watching American football and is an Oakland Raiders fan.

Sahira began her career in Financial Services working at a high street bank. With over 15 years of experience within our industry she has gained valuable knowledge working with some of the leading companies in Financial Services, principally in Business Development, Training and Compliance roles.
Sahira is excited to be part of the BBT family and to develop the business with both colleagues and clients.
As well as being a keen traveller, Sahira’s interests include sports, cars and she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
